Amelia is one of the top white-wine labels from Viña Concha y Toro, a champion of Chilean winemaking. The grapes for the 2023 vintage come from the famed Quebrada Seca Vineyard in the Limarí Valley, close to the Pacific coast, where the cool maritime influence and calcareous/clay soils lend a uniquely fresh, mineral-driven character to Chardonnay.
The 2023 Amelia Chardonnay earned high praise from critics. In the 2025 report by noted wine writer Tim Atkin MW, it was named “White Wine of the Year” and awarded 97 points!!!
Amelia isn’t meant to be a heavy, buttery, overly oaked Chardonnay, rather it reflects a modern “Old World meets New World” aesthetic, clarity, minerality, freshness, and a refined sense of place rather than overt fruit richness or creamy oak influence.
Elegant, taut and saline, with a refined texture and a sense of restraint rather than opulence. The body is medium to full but remains transparent and focused, think pear, lemon zest, some stone fruit, with a firm and graceful minerality.
Atkin described the 2023 as a “salty, stony, Pacific Ocean–influenced style of Chardonnay with no malolactic, impressive focus and balance, layers of toast, tangerine and waxed lemons and a pithy, mouth-watering finish.”
