Aviation gin is distilled using a proprietary maceration recipe that produces a pure medley of botanical flavour. It was first produced in Portland, Oregon, by founders Christian Krogstad and Ryan Magarian in 2006. It is referred to as an "American dry gin", meaning the taste profile is less strongly juniper flavored, specifically designed to be softer and smoother than London Dry, with juniper in the back and citrus and floral notes in the front for a balanced medley of botanicals taking flavour to new heights.
It serves as a fantastic base for cocktails - in particular, the Aviation cocktail after which the brand is named; Aviation Gin, lemon juice, Maraschino liqueur and Violette liqueur and can also be enjoyed with tonic and a mint and a grapefruit garnish or with Elderflower tonic and a mint and lemon garnish.
