Martinez Lacuesta are one of the oldest registered brands in Rioja, pre-dating the creation of the Rioja designation itself. They have been making vermouth since 1937 using the same traditional formula, using 24 different plants macerated in the white wine base.
Very pale yellow in color, the nose displays subtle floral aromas (chamomile or mint) with a hint of vanilla sweetness.
On the palate, it's smooth and refined, with a very pleasant aftertaste of licorice, cinnamon, and ginger, until it finally reaches its full aromatic expression, characterized by the bitterness imparted by the wormwood or artemisia.
It should be served chilled, accompanied by a slice of lemon and an olive.
