Produced by the historic Tiffon house in Cognac, Braastad combines French distilling tradition with Norwegian family heritage. The Braastad family became involved with the estate in the early 20th century, and today the house is recognised for crafting approachable, well-balanced Cognacs that showcase classic regional character while remaining smooth and accessible.
Braastad XO reflects generations of expertise in distillation and ageing, shaped by the Braastad family’s long-standing stewardship of the estate since the early 20th century. The XO style represents a more mature expression of the house, with longer oak ageing that brings greater depth, complexity and refinement while retaining a smooth, approachable character.
Deep amber in colour, this XO Cognac opens with layered aromas of dried fig, orange peel, vanilla and toasted oak, followed by richer notes of prune, caramel and warm baking spice. The palate is full and velvety, showing well-integrated oak alongside flavours of dark dried fruit, honeyed apricot and roasted almond. Subtle spice and polished tannins add structure without harshness, leading into a long, elegant finish with lingering notes of cocoa, citrus zest and gentle complexity.
Supple, mature and harmonious, it is best enjoyed slowly neat or with a drop of water to open its depth.
