From the remote sub-region of Mamoiada in the heart of Sardinia, “Perdas Longas” meaning ‘Long Stones’ takes its name from the ancient menhirs scattered across the landscape. Beneath these timeless monuments, old Cannonau vines (averaging around 70 years) yield fruit full of depth and character, rooted in one of Italy’s most quietly exciting wine regions.
Produced by Francesco Cadinu, whose family vineyards lie to the east of the appellation, this wine reflects a more structured and powerful interpretation of Cannonau. Careful extraction during vinification brings intensity and depth, while preserving the authenticity of the terroir.
The nose is rich and expressive, offering layers of ripe red and dark berries, dried herbs and subtle earthy spice. On the palate, it is full-bodied and concentrated, with generous fruit, firm yet polished tannins and a warming, savoury edge. Despite its power, there is balance and precision, leading to a long, compelling finish.
