Don Vincenzo Staibano was a stylish and charismatic playboy from Amalfi, known to many as “Il Gaga”. Surrounded by such outstanding natural beauty and unique architecture, Don Vincenzo unsurprisingly delighted in the dolce vita of the Amalfi Coast. As well as tending to his vast amount of lemon groves, he was a master at creating liqueurs and spirits which he started producing back in the 1930s.

The secret recipe of Don Vincenzo, which was created during his time spent on the Island of Capri during the mid 1940s. Inspired by the infamous rucolino, this amaro is characterised by rocket leaves which give it a smooth, delicate and subtle piquant flavour.

The secret recipe also includes Amalfi Lemons and a mixture of other citrus, spices, herbs and roots.

Capri Amaro was created to celebrate the birth of Don Vinceno's grandson Piero, which he famously toasted with a cafe corretto overlooking the famous faraglioni rocks of Capri.
