“Alimara” in Catalan, means beacon and in this instance they are referring to the beacons of fire that were placed on the top of hills to rapidly pass signals between towns and populations. This thought process becomes clear when understanding their wines as a signal of Catalans increasing quality and ingenuity.
If "Alimara" is the beacon then "Llumi" is the light. Combining traditional Catalan grape varieties like Garnatxa (Grenache), Carinyena (Carignan), and Garnatxa Peluda with modern winemaking techniques. The winery works with low-intervention, sustainable viticulture and takes a minimalist approach in the cellar to allow the fruit and terroir to shine.
The nose has hints of red fruits, plums and forest floor. The palate is again dominated by red fruits with darker overtones combining liquorice and spice.
