Produced by the Bataillard family, brothers Didier and Alain and nephew Michaël, who manage 36 ha of old vines across four of Beaujolais’ top crus (Juliénas, Chénas, Moulin-à-Vent and Saint-Amour) plus Beaujolais Villages plots. Their estate is HVE certified, and they emphasise finesse, freshness and minimal intervention.
Made from 100% Gamay, harvested this year and vinified as a Nouveau which involves early bottling to capture the pure essence of the vintage. The grapes are handled using modified carbonic maceration (whole-berry technique) from old-vine vineyards on siliceous clay and granitic soils, giving vibrant fruit and bright energy.
Bright ruby in colour, this wine bursts with aromas of fresh red berries along with a flirtatious hint of violet and blossom. On the palate it’s light-to-medium bodied, lively and juicy, with crisp acidity and soft tannins that support a finish of red berry purée and gentle herbaceous lift. Designed for early enjoyment, this is a wine to serve chilled and share with friends.
Serve with charcuterie, roast chicken, light pasta, or simply with friends. A stylish, fruity red built for good company.
