Ch Lynch Bages was originally designated 5th Growth status in 1855, but in recent years it has consistently performed at a 2nd Growth level. It is based in the sub region of Pauillac and dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon, grown on gravelly soil, partnered with a good portion of Merlot. It normally produces a wine with structure and power.
The 1986 has an expressive fruit driven nose, with a taut, lean elegant palate.
