Founded in 1766, Chateau Guiraud farm 128 hectares of prime vineyard in the heart of Sauternes. A Premier Grand Cru Classe in the 1855 classification of Bordeaux, they are respected for the consistent excellence of their wines and the fresh balanced style they achieve. In 2011 they became the first Premier Grand Cru Classe in Bordeaux to receive organic certification, part of their ongoing effort to champion biodiversity and reduce their environmental impact.
72% Sauvignon Blanc and 28% Semillon, hand harvested at peak ripeness effected by noble rot. Aged in oak barrels for 12 months before bottling.
A very opulent vintage with complex aromas and a delicious flavour. Apricot and tropical fruits, toffee and spice . Well balanced with medium acidity. Delicious.
