A classic Médoc red from Château Pomeys, situated just outside Castelnau-du-Médoc and owned by Patrick Meynard since 2007. Predominantly Merlot with Cabernet Sauvignon, this is a beautifully balanced Bordeaux from an excellent vintage, combining ripe fruit with the structure and elegance expected from Moulis-en-Médoc.
Deeply coloured with youthful purple hues, the nose is rich with ripe and slightly overripe dark fruit alongside subtle, elegant oak. The palate is harmonious and well structured, with generous fruit and a creamy texture that gently envelops the tannins. Balanced rather than overly powerful, it has the concentration and structure to develop beautifully with further bottle age.
A rewarding choice for lovers of classic Bordeaux, particularly alongside roast beef, lamb, game or rich autumnal dishes. While enjoyable now, a few more years in the cellar will allow it to reveal even greater complexity.
