The Gizella Estate Blend is a standout example of dry Tokaj white wine. Winemaker László Szilágyi and his team oversee 12 vineyard parcels across Tarcal, Bodrogkeresztúr and Mád, working small scale with precision in the estate’s tradition. Their focus is clean, minimal-intervention winemaking, combining ancient soils with modern practices. The 2024 Estate Blend is made from a blend of the region’s signature white grapes; Furmint and Hárslevelű, selected from multiple vineyards and whole-bunch pressed. Fermented and matured in stainless steel to preserve purity of fruit, vibrant acidity and Tokaj’s famed minerality.
In the glass it appears pale straw with green reflections. On the nose it has lifted aromas of white peach, apple blossom, lime-zest and a hint of white florals. The palate is crisp and energetic, showing ripe pear, white nectarine, and a touch of quince, all framed by a fine mineral backbone and bright saline lift. The finish is long, refined and ultra-clean, reminiscent of fine Chablis but with a distinct Tokaj character.
Ideal with oysters, grilled sea bass, lemon-herb chicken, or goat’s-cheese tart. A superb alternative to Sauvignon Blanc or unoaked Chardonnay.
