In the Alsatian village of Voegtlinshoffen (try saying that after a few glasses!) the Cattin family have been tending vineyards and making wine since 1720. Now in the hands of the 11th and 12th generations, Jacques and Jacques Jr Cattin, their 65 hectares of vineyard make them among Alsace's largest family-owned wineries.
The Cuvee Noble is a unique blend of equal parts Riesling and Pinot Gris, giving a rich but balanced white wine with the qualities of the two varieties in perfect harmony. On the nose you feel more of the Pinot Gris, with poached pear and baking spices, before the lovely Riesling acidity and minerality maintains freshness on the long and elegant palate. A versatile white that would be equally at home with pork chops, cheeseboards and spicy dishes.
