Bodega Montes in Chile was founded by Aurelio Montes, when he realised the potential of the Mendoza wine growing region in 2000, describing it as ‘a superb land filled with generous wines and hardworking people’. Kaiken Wines was born in 2001 and today boasts superb vineyards in the sought-after regions of Vistalba, Agrelo and Vista Flores.
Pairs well with steak of course, but also strongly flavoured baked aubergine dishes and even beef teppanyaki.
