The 2021 growing season in South Australia was long and cool, with a few warm days directly before harvest allowing the grapes to retain high natural acidity while developing the richer characteristics of Portia Valley Shiraz.
The resulting wine is heady on the nose and decadent on the palate, with dark berries and subtle spice, layered with dark chocolate, ripe plum and gentle earthiness, all wrapped in silky tannins and balanced by that fine seam of acidity. The finish carries the spice, along with tapenade, mocha and hazelnut.
