Miani is a small-scale, highly regarded estate in the hills of the Colli Orientali DOC in northeastern Italy, run by winemaker Enzo Pontoni. The vineyards, scattered on slopes at roughly 100–300 m altitude are farmed with low yields and great care, often leaving only a couple of bunches per vine in green-harvest, to concentrate flavour rather than maximise volume. Miani is widely considered one of Italy’s best producers of white wines, known for creating wines of depth and texture while maintaining balance and finesse rather than heaviness.
The 2024 Malvasia from Miani invites you into a refined aromatic world. On the nose it has delicate floral and orchard-fruit scents, soft peach or pear perhaps, layered with subtle mineral notes hinting at the vineyard’s expressive terroir.
