Thibault Liger-Belair has become one of the most respected names in Burgundy and Beaujolais. The vineyards are farmed organically, with carefully controlled yields and a thoughtful approach to winemaking that balances richness with finesse. Thibault pays particular attention to oak selection, working closely with his coopers and using no more than 50% new barrels. His recently established winery is also powered by geothermal and solar energy, reflecting his considered approach both in the vineyard and cellar.
This is a superb example of Moulin-à-Vent, an appellation renowned for producing some of Beaujolais’ most structured and age-worthy Gamay. Deep, refined and beautifully balanced, it combines intense, concentrated fruit with layers of spice and a refreshing mineral edge. The palate has a wonderfully velvety texture, supported by elegant structure and impressive depth. Already offering plenty of flavour, this is also a wine with excellent ageing potential, developing further complexity and character over time.
A brilliant match for roast beef, lamb, game, duck or rich mushroom dishes. Its depth and structure make it a particularly versatile partner for hearty, flavourful food.
