From one of the Douro’s most respected estates, Monte Meão Branco 2024 is a beautiful white that reflects the character of the region and the precision of the winemaker.
A challenging yet ultimately rewarding growing season, marked by winter rains, a hot spring, and a fast, early harvest, has resulted in a wine of real concentration and freshness. Lower yields and careful vineyard selection have brought intensity and clarity to the final blend.
Made from Arinto and Rabigato, the grapes are gently pressed using a traditional vertical press before fermenting in small temperature-controlled vats, with each variety vinified separately. The wine is then aged on its lees for seven months, building texture and complexity.
In the glass, it shows a bright, green-tinged hue. The nose is lively and expressive, with citrus, green apple and subtle mineral notes. On the palate, it combines the vibrant acidity of Arinto with the fresh, lifted fruit of Rabigato, giving a wine that is both crisp and refreshing yet surprisingly textured and full.
