The grapes for this Amarone are carefully selected from the Rizzardi Family's estates in the commune of Nagrar di Vapolicella.
The blend is Corvina 55% Corvione 20%, Rondinella 10%, Barbera 10% and Sangiovese 5% and these grapes are dried in the traditional Amarone method, in small crates in the old drying rooms of Pojega for 3-5 months.
The destemmed fruit ferments in stainless steel for a month before malolactic fermentation in oak barrels. The wine matures for 36 months in oak.
This is a fabulous vintage, fresh and vibrant in its youth, with dark and mysterious notes and a long flavourful finish. A wonderful wine with great aging potential.
Pair with rich stews, grilled and barbequed meats.
