The Champion family has been growing grapes in Chouilly since the mid-18th century. Today, the estate is run by François Champion and his two daughters, Clémence and Carole. For many years, most of their grapes were sold to the major Champagne houses, but they have now chosen to bottle more of their exceptional wines under their own label.
Their Rosé Carat is produced in extremely limited quantities, no more than 4,000 bottles per year, and only in vintages where harvest conditions are just right. This elegant Champagne is a blend of 90% white wine and 10% reserve red wine, resulting in a pale salmon-pink hue with a delicate, refined mousse. The nose offers subtle toasty red fruit aromas, leading into flavours of fresh strawberries and cream, fruit cocktail, and a beautifully balanced acidity with a touch of minerality.
