A wine that truly speaks of its place in the world, of the old vines and the soils from whence it came. Boris Kovac has produced a limited run of just 900 bottles exclusively for our supplier and we are thrilled to get out hands on it. The labels feature Kovac's distinctive art work!
An old vine, Cotes Du Roussillon blend; the mix comprises of Syrah 35% (planted in 2004), Syrah 20% (planted in 1992), Grenache Rouge 35% (planted in 1929), Carignan 5% (planted in 1900), Mourvèdre 5% (planted in 1952).
On the nose there’s a mere hint of cedar, but plenty of blueberries, raspberries and cherries. In the mouth it’s medium to full-bodied, silky in feel, fresh and welcoming, easy to drink yet complex, finishing with savoury echoes of espresso and black olives.
A marvellous accompaniment to prime rib, with the great classics of French cooking (pot-au-feu, stew, sausage, lentils, etc.) and with oriental dishes such as tagine, couscous or a great, classic French cheese.
Truly a terroir wine and incredible value for money!
