Smokkelman White is a confident, textural blend that brings together some of the Western Cape’s finest vineyard sites. 30% of the wine is aged on its lees in old French oak for seven months, adding depth, texture and savoury nuance while preserving freshness. A beautifully balanced white that marries richness with energy, equally at home on its own or at the table.
The blend combines Sauvignon Blanc from Stellenbosch, Chenin Blanc from Franschhoek, Stellenbosch and Swartland, and Chardonnay from Stellenbosch, all hand-harvested and wild fermented in a range of vessels to build complexity.
Aromas of pear, quince and crisp apple lead the way, lifted by delicate notes of fynbos-inspired white flowers. On the palate, the wine is luxurious and layered, with flavours of lychee and ripe white fruits flowing into a gently herbal, subtly spicy finish.
