It’s a wine that captures the Barossa’s generosity while keeping everything poised, aromatic and finely balanced.
The 2023 vintage benefited from a long, slow ripening season, delivering depth of flavour alongside vibrancy and natural balance. Grapes were whole-berry open fermented for seven days before gentle pressing and maturation for 11 months in seasoned French hogsheads and puncheons, allowing the fruit and spice to shine without heavy oak influence.
The nose is lifted and expressive, showing ripe plum, mulberry and dark cherry, layered with notes of liquorice, cola, dried flowers, wood spice and savoury hints of cured meat. On the palate, spiced plum and berry fruit flow smoothly across powdery, well-integrated tannins, with gentle earthy complexity and a fresh line of acidity carrying the wine through to a satisfying, medium-length finish.
Ideal with roast lamb, grilled sausages, slow-cooked pork, BBQ dishes or spiced vegetable stews.
