Gianni Tessari is a well-regarded producer based in the Colli Berici hills of Veneto, an area known for its volcanic and limestone soils and for being the historic home of Tai Rosso. This grape, genetically linked to Grenache tends to make lighter-bodied, aromatic reds that reflect the warm but breezy Berici climate.
The 2023 Tai Rosso opens with clear, bright ruby colour. The nose shows direct, clean aromas of red berries, mainly raspberry and cherry with a light earthy note and a faint herbal edge typical of the variety.
On the palate, the wine is fresh and linear, driven by lively acidity that keeps the fruit crisp. The body is moderate, the tannins are fine and gentle, and there’s a subtle savoury tone that adds interest without complicating the wine’s straightforward character.
