Summer wine perfection in a bottle. From the mecca of Albarino production, Rias Baixas in Galicia, this wine is just delicious! Dry and crisp with saline minerality apparent from the close proximity to the Atlantic ocean, and buckets of ripe stoned fruit. The perfect pairing for any seafood, especially shellfish, yes BBQ prawns. A real peach!
Vibrant plum and cherry aromas combine with woody, herbal notes. The palate is complex with juicy bramble fruit, black pepper, and lifted, savoury characters.
Drink with casseroles, red meat or manchego cheese.
100% unoaked Viura. Clean, fresh and attractive nose showing hints of ripe peach and pear. Ripe, savoury and an almost creamy palate cut through with a refreshing streak of zesty acidity. Lifted floral and citrus notes on the nose. The palate has orchard fruits, ripe melon.
New to the UK (We have the only stock retail) and new to the world, Bodegas Yuste is a project of some sensationally wealthy spaniards with a sherry habit. They’ve acquired some top quality old Bodegas and are rekindling them, bringing a new house back online. This has given them stocks of amazing mature wines, resulting in this Amontillado averaging 19 years of age in the bottle, with wines going back far older. Racey and fresh still, but with extremely concentrated flavours of spice, nuts and fresh toffee popcorn. Get down to this with some quality Iberico ham.
A blend of 29% Chenin Blanc, 23% Roussanne, 11% Viognier, 11% Chardonnay, 10% Grenache Blanc, 5% Colombard, 5% Grenache Gris, 2% Semillon, 2% Verdelho and 2% Clairette Blanche. There are two kinds of people in the world. The first kind will say "Wow! That sounds exciting!". The second kind will count up all the percentages and make sure they add up to 100%. Which are you? If you find you are now reading this with a calculator in your hand, then this is probably not the wine for you. If you are licking your lips at the prospect of such an exciting cocktail of varieties, then this wine should be right up your street. To make a tuneful melody from so many disparate elements takes a clever conductor and Adi Badenhorst has his orchestra playing in wonderful harmony. Cool, undertated peach and nectarine vie with lively citrus and sour honey flavours in this full-bodied, intriguing, complex wine that will age beautifully for another 5-6 years
Intriguing and with a complex nose of dried cherries, black berries and fig. Balanced savoury notes with cherry, dried orange peel characters and sweet spice. Balanced acidity, impressive structure and a long finish.
From the island of Madeira, this medium-dry fortified wine offers an interesting slightly herbaceous edge, followed by a nutty, dry caramel palette. There’s a little sweetness balanced by good acidity, a very interesting wine that matches well with a host of foods, from anchovies on toast to hard cheeses like Gruyere or Comte.
This is a modern style Barbera from a top cru. Deep in colour, dense meaty berry fruits and spice on the nose. It's rich and ripe with some lovely bitter sweet flavours and good acidity too. There are chocolate hints on the palate and toasty oak with spice. It's a powerful wine but with great fruit and is made in a natural style with no use of sulphur.
100% Barbera from Piemonte. Fresh, racy, but mellow, aged in steel not in oak.
