Château de Pierreux is one of the finest domaines in Beaujolais, with its 77 hectare estate situated in the heart of Brouilly. Here the old bush vines are cultivated using organic and biodynamic principles. The hand-harvested Gamay grapes are cold-soaked for three days as the wild yeasts set to work. The grapes are then foot trodden, regularly, until the end of fermentation. The wine is transferred to wooden vats for 6 months, prior to bottling.
This beautiful Brouilly shows redcurrant and blueberry fruit with floral hints of iris and violet. This is a serious yet approachable wine, crafted in a style akin to the more prestigious wines of Burgundy.
