The 3.67 hectare Pomerol vineyard of Chateau Vray Croix de Gay is planted with 80% Merlot, with 20% Cabernet Franc with vines which average 43 years in age. The Chateau have strived to increase the percentage of Cabernet Franc in their vineyards, in favour of Cabernet Sauvignon. They have practiced sustainable farming management since 2008 with conversion to organic and biodynamic viticulture beginning in 2015.
The Enchanteur is the second wine from Vray Croix de Gay. It is a blend of 95% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc. Made to drink from the point of release, this is an approachable wine with ripe black fruits, silky but firm, with the influence of a short ageing of 12 months in barrels (20% new oak).
