Fourth Generation winemaker, Sebastien Magnien produces this white wine from his home region of Hautes Côtes de Beaune. The family winery, once located here, in the village of Meloisey, has now relocated to Meursault where he also produces white wines of exceptional quality.
The Hautes-Côtes de Beaune, has no specific AOCs named after villages or premier cru vineyards and is not renowned for exceptional wines (relative to its close neighbours). But Magnien is fortunate to have old vines with favourable aspects and there is certainly value to be found in this elegant white Burgundy.
Refreshing with a fine mineral character. On the palate, bright lemon and lime fruits and pithy grapefruit leading to a long finish with hints of almonds and honeysuckle.
