A perfectly choreographed blend of 48% Merlot, 27% Cabernet Sauvignon and 25% Malbec. Grown in Elgin, the coolest wine region in South Africa these grapes have freshness, flavour and balance. The soils are a mix of sandstone, clay and cobble, all situated 300 m above sea level. Yields are low and the flavour concentration intense.
The wines were matured for 17 months (30% new french oak) before being assembled.
Seductively fruity with vanilla and cigar box notes. Complex but elegant with fresh cool climate acidity. A velvety finish of juicy plums and fruit cake and long lingering finish. This wonderful blend will drink youthfully but will further improve. It can be cellared comfortably up to 10 years.
