Wiston Rosé NV captures the essence of summer, with fragrant notes of rhubarb, raspberry, strawberry, redcurrant, wild roses, lemon zest and a touch of sherbet on the finish. Underlying all of this is a backbone of crushed oyster shells, which reflects the pure chalk terroir where the vines are grown. It is superbly elegant with tiny, persistent bubbles and a refreshing acidity that makes one go back for more.
“This is a joyous warm-weather fizz striking just the right balance between accessibility and interest. Its perfumed nose hints at summer fruits (redcurrants and raspberry) before a creamy, textured palate adds gravitas.” Hamish Anderson, The Telegraph
“Lovely vibrant fruit character with a rhubarb sort of element to it. Full of flavour and generosity – proper rosé with good concentration and purity. Good length, loads of potential – excellent.” Richard Hemming MW, Purple Pages of JancisRobinson.com
“One thing that’s become clear is that what England does very well is sparkling rosé. Who’d have thought it? There are so many good ones, and Wiston’s tight, energetic style is particularly good. Wiston produces a vintage as well as a non-vintage sparkling rosé. This is the cheaper non-vintage version and it’s a beauty – lively and berry-scented.” Victoria Moore, The Telegraph
