Domaine Caizergues is based just north of Montpelier and they have 33 hectares of vines. They make wines which are true to the area and use the same grapes that have been grown there for many years, however, this producer vinifies in a very modern way and creates more approachable and expressive styles of wine.
We import these wines into the UK with our friends the Vindependents. We think they represent good value, but also reflect what can be achieved in the south of France, when handled respectfully.
Tisserands Blanc is a blend of Sauvignon Blanc 70%, Vermentino 15% and Grenache Blanc 15%. The vines are grown in soils of limestone and clay/limestone and the wine spends six months in tank on fine lees.
The label is a nod to the past and represents the old silk farm industry in the area and the name ‘Les Tisserands’ refers to the silk weavers.
Vibrant on the nose with aromas of of boxwood, exotic fruits and white peach. The fruit persists on the palate, leaving a fresh and juicy finish.
