Alphabetical's Vin Blanc comprises mostly of Roussanne-a varietal that originates in France's Rhone valley, and has a touch of Chardonnay thrown in to give it a bit of backbone. It is a light, fresh style and sinks down way too easily on a hot summer's day.
The wine has aromas of citrus and stone fruits, with a hint of white flowers. Roussanne brings a lot of texture to the palate, with chardonnay providing a crisp acidity to balance. Flavours are succulent with peach and tropical characters coming to the fore, and a zippy citrus edge leading to a clean, refreshing finish. This is a food friendly wine and will match well with white fish and seafood, as well as salads and light chicken dishes, or indeed, as an aperitif/afternoon drink in the sun.
