Sylvain Dussort comes from a long line of winemakers and coopers based in Meursault. All fruit is hand harvested. He harvests early looking for elegant, mineral, terroir driven wines which age well.
The ‘Cuvee des Ormes’ is made using fruit grown in three Meursault based vineyards and comes from vines aged 35-60 years old. The wine undergoes a period of 12 months ageing in barrel on its lees prior to bottling.
On the nose, aromatic notes of white fruit and flowers meet a flinty mineral tone. The palate is one of richness thanks to the lees contact, white fruit flavours come through in abundance with notes of apple, pear and quince leading to a buttery creaminess. Firm mineral notes and fresh zesty acidity balance the finish nicely.
