The Brighton & Hove Food and Drink Festival is a year-round celebration of food and drink running every Easter, May, August/September and December.
Engaging annually with around 160,000 consumers and 350 food, drink and hospitality businesses, they believe both local and good food should be accessible to everyone, which is why they have made a commitment that all of our major outdoor events remain free-access for everyone to experience and enjoy.
Outside of the main festival periods, they champion Brighton & Hove’s hospitality businesses, and the wider food economy of Sussex, through a programme of consumer and business engagement and profiling activities including the Brighton & Hove Food and Drink Awards, an ever-expanding programme of Sussex Wine & Gourmet Bus Tours, the Brighton Restaurant Association, Meet the Supplier events and the International Chef Exchange which has seen them promote the gastronomic offering of our region in The Netherlands, Canada, France, Italy, Channel Islands, Sweden and the Caribbean.
The festival organisation is fulfilling its long-term aims and objectives to promote Brighton & Hove and surrounding Sussex as a world-class food tourism destination, encouraging better ways of eating and engaging with food for citizens, creating a promotional platform for food and hospitality businesses, building a connected regional supply chain and facilitating international trade.
They are a not-for-profit community interest company and entirely rely on the on-going support of the local food and hospitality industries, our media partners, our patrons and our generous sponsors.
We work very closely with the festival running a world bar, English wine bar and English wine festival during the May festival, and at various events throughout the year. We feel it is important to work with the local community and businesses. The English wine festival is the only event like it with over 70 different local English wines to taste at one time. We stock all the wines at Butlers and work closely with all the producers.
