We are very pleased to have the Adelphi whisky's back in stock, and act quickly as there is fierce demand. They are a pleasure to deal with as a company, the whisky is sublime.
The distillery was started in 1826 on the banks of the river Clyde. Production fully ceased in the early 1970's, but they managed to restart almost thirty years later with a collection of old barrels. Since then a new distillery was opened in 2014 in Ardnamurchan, at the UK's most western point, just north of the Isle of Mull.
Whisky production can have quite an impact on the environment, Adelphi has very good green credentials. The power and heat requirements utilise local renewables. The by-products of production go back onto the peninsula or provide animal feed. They also use modern technology and QR codes to provide full information and traceability of every bottle made.
Sadly, we have already sold out of their Ardnamurchan, within one day. We have their bottling of Caol Ila, which is wonderfully complex, there are savoury notes alongside lemon curd and vanilla spice. The blend is great value, with coastal aromas and a long smoky palate which is beautifully balanced.
Adelphi is a whisky must for collectors and drinkers.
