Ardnamurchan is one of a collection of five West Highland peninsulas. It is home to Adelphi Distillery, one of the most prestigious and environmentally sustainable distilleries in Scotland.
Presenting the 2023 Laudale release by the independent bottler Adelphi, renowned for its penchant for showcasing sherry-influenced whiskies. Batch 6 hails from the Dailuaine distillery in Speyside and has undergone a 12-year maturation process in sherry casks. This exclusive release consists of a mere 2,100 bottles, each bottled at a respectable 46% alcohol by volume (ABV).
Laudale, translating to "valley of the mountain streams," is nestled on the southern banks of Loch Sunart on the Morvern peninsula. It stands as a testament to pure tranquillity and natural beauty, where majestic eagles take flight, and graceful deer traverse the rugged hills that ascend from the shoreline.
In terms of flavour, this exquisite release offers a delightful medley of sensations, including notes of golden syrup, flambéed orange, demerara sugar, ginger nut biscuits, and cinnamon churros with salted caramel sauce.

This was my second visit to Butlers Wine Cellar and on both occasions the service has been wonderful. The young lady assisted me and my wife on a number of purchases of wine and sherry and seemed very knowledgeable and made us feel welcome.
