Albino Rocca Barbaresco Cotta 2016

The Rocca family began its love affair with Nebbiolo over a century ago and has been producing its own wines since 1955. Angelo Rocca, whose three daughters now run the estate, was a Barbaresco pioneer, jettisoning big oak flavours for fruit purity and terroir expression.

The benefits of this quality-driven approach shine through in this wine, made from old-vine fruit from the Roccas' tiny but highly regarded Cotta vineyard. It has a sublime mouthfeel, laden with soft, warm, sweet fruit, lovely polished tannins and balancing freshness.

Already drinking beautifully, particularly with wild mushroom risotto.
