Since 2019 we have been recording our own Butlers Podcast. It was my idea trying to do something no one else was really doing in the wine world at the time and it grew from there.

Our niece Evie does the intros and outros for us and Henry and I record them all on my iphone in one take.

We discuss wine trends, different regions or grape varieties, wine producing countries etc plus a few random things when I get distracted.

Alexander Valley Vineyards Sin Zin 2018

A Californian classic. You can really feel the family resemblance to the popular Primitivo grape but here it is even darker with intense black fruit and warm spice. Flavours of black cherry, plum, black pepper, and chocolate are generous and deep. There is good grip and power in this wine and a nice, clean finish. Grilled and braised meats, roasted poultry, tomato based stews and hard cheeses.

The label is German etching, by Moritz von Schwind around 1843. The image was titled: Des Knabben Wunderhorn, meaning “The Boy’s Magic Horn”. This bacchanalian character was the inspiration behind the name 'Sin Zin'.
