Vintage time is when it all happens, the grapes are ripe and ready to be transformed into wine – and they won't be kept waiting. Nineteen hour days in the vineyard and winery become the norm, your equipment becomes your family, the wines your Mistress – especially when you come home covered in purple kisses from your grape friends.
This is a delicious blend of Touriga Nacional, Tempranillo and Carignan. Each varietal comes from a single vineyard (from Barossa, Adelaide Hills and Langhorne Creek respectively) and matured separately for 9 months in old Burgundy barriques before blending and ageing in tank for 6 months.
It is bright and lightly floral with dried herbs and wild berries on the nose followed by cherries and darker fruits on the palate. Juicy acidity leaps around the mouth with light dusty tannins that are ripe and soft.
This is a versatile food wine working well with tapas, charcuterie or anything fried on bread.
