There have been Angerers producing wines in Austria's classy Kamptal region since 1848. Kurt is the fourth generation and his philosophy is all about making his wines sing of the vineyards they come from.
His Ametzberg Riesling is a balancing act that deserves its own high wire - a perfect showcase of the hot Kamptal summers termpered by cooling winds flowing down the Kamp river valley. It fills the glass with sweet blossom and honeyed peaches, but slaps you up with a gorgeous jolt of acidity in the mouth.
Fantastic with fish now, but will age brilliantly for a few years yet.
