Château Puybarbe is located in the heart of the Côtes de Bourg appellation, on the right bank of the Gironde just across the water from Margaux.
Finnish couple Riku et Anna Väänänen practice biodynamic and organic farming methods and they are working towards organic certification.
The rose is a blend of Merlot 55%, Cabernet Sauvignon 30% and Malbec 15% grapes. They are are grown on a south sloping plateau, named Puy Barbe, which marks the highest point of this appellation.
There is plenty of flavour and depth here with wild rose and strawberry fruit, fresh acidity to balance the weight of this medium bodied wine. To be enjoyed when the sun shines or paired with shellfish, seafood, fish soups with tomato, salmon or grilled fish with potatoes.
