– Sold OutSangiovese is also known as Prugnolo Gentile in Montepulciano. These grapes are grown on clay rich soils, then undergo a natural fermentation from indigenous yeasts. After maceration with skins for 15 days in large Slavonian casks, the wine spends 5 months in oak barrel and a minimum of 3 months in bottle before release.
Soft, approachable, fruit driven. The tannins are soft, this is a very friendly wine straight from opening. This is a good example of a Tuscan red, made from Sangiovese, which can be drunk when young.
