We used to sell this wine years ago and are pleased to say it's now back on our shelves.
My dad who lives in Portugal sent us a Portuguese article recently saying this is the best winery in Portugal, who are we to argue?
Based in Alentejo in the South of this fine wine making country (not far from where my dad lives) the Azamor estate was planted in 2003 among cork oaks and olive groves. Their warm climate is ideal for growing a unique mix of Portuguese and French grape varieties, producing supple, rich and generous wines.
This estate red is a blend of Syrah, Alicante Bouschet, Touriga Franca, Merlot, Touriga Nacional, Trincadeira and Petit Verdot, aged in oak for seven months.
It is beautifully aromatic with a lush dark red fruit perfume. It's well rounded with lots of delicious soft fruit flavours, blackberry, black cherry and plum. It has a silky palate with soft ripe tannins.

This was my second visit to Butlers Wine Cellar and on both occasions the service has been wonderful. The young lady assisted me and my wife on a number of purchases of wine and sherry and seemed very knowledgeable and made us feel welcome. Having tasted them she was spot on with her comments on each bottle. I would highly recommend anyone to use this shop.
