Basics Five: Blending for Beauty

Our new Basics tastings are all about demystifying wine and sharing knowledge in a friendly and informal way, with a different theme or concept each month.
For September I want to talk about how winemakers utilise blending in the production of great wine - blending between different grape varieties, vineyards and even years. We will taste sparkling, white and red wines as we look at the way blending can benefit the balance and complexity of wines.
Don’t worry if you know nothing about wine or wine tasting, these events are intended to be completely beginner-friendly and I love answering all of your questions about anything wine-related!

Sourcing Stock
Henry and Team managed to locate some difficult to find American wine which they kindly offered and I gratefully accepted. They truly differentiate by being able to surprise by sourcing stock very much outside the run of the mill.

Great Wine/Spirit shop with knowledgeable, friendly and helpful staff
This was my second visit to Butlers Wine Cellar and on both occasions the service has been wonderful. The young lady assisted me and my wife on a number of purchases of wine and sherry and seemed very knowledgeable and made us feel welcome. Having tasted them she was spot on with her comments on each bottle. I would highly recommend anyone to use this shop.
