Vines of this Pinot Noir were planted in the 1970s. The small clos is now a monopole of the Domaine Georges Noëllat, established in 2016. Found in the core of the Beaune 1er Cru appellation, it lies uphill from Avaux. Viticulture practices employ lutte raisonnée, with treatments administered only when a significant threat arises.
Winemaking includes up to 15% of the grapes in whole cluster form, followed by a 10-12 day cold maceration prior to fermentation, gentle extraction at the onset, and 3-4 punch-downs daily during the end stages. The finished product matures for 18-20 months in barrel, with around half of them being new.

This was my second visit to Butlers Wine Cellar and on both occasions the service has been wonderful.
