Blank Bottle's Pieter Walser always wanted to make a wine from Cape Agulhas, at the most Southern tip of South Africa, where his beloved family holiday home is situated. On this mission, he found a small holding with vineyards only 47 km away in a town called Baardskeerdersbos. Translated to English it means “Beard-Shavers-Bush” and this name is borrowed from a spider which builds its nest from human hair. The myth goes that when you go to bed at night the Baardskeerder spider will climb into your bed and shave your beard for the construction of his home! Shortened to B-Bos, this wine is now in its second vintage. The 2020 is a straight Semillon, dry and herbal, elegant and intriguing.
