Sylvain Dussort comes from a long line of winemakers and coopers based in Meursault in France. All the fruit is hand harvested. He harvests early looking for elegant, mineral, terroir driven wines which age well.
The ‘Cuvee des Ormes’ is made using fruit grown in two parcels grown just outside of the village of Meursault, where the vines are aged between 35-60 years old. The wine undergoes a period of 12 months ageing in barrel on its lees prior to bottling.
2018 was an excellent vintage with good concentration of fruit. On the nose it's full of aromatic notes of white fruit and flowers with a flinty mineral tone. The palate is one of richness thanks to the lees contact.
This is a wonderful wine to age for a few years, or to be enjoyed with roast chicken or earthy root vegetable dishes.
