Here's a well-kept secret - a silky-smooth (and very keenly priced) red Burgundy from the Côte d'Or's white wine heartland of Meursault.

The big secret is the proximity of the vineyards to the neighbouring village of Volnay. But Sylvain Dussort's light-touch philosophy in the vineyard and winery play a big part too. He hand-harvests early to retain freshness, minerality and elegance in his wines. Wild fermentations, judicious oak use and extended lees ageing fold in impressive complexity.

The result here is a ready-to-drink, beautifully accessible Burgundy red with plush tannins and great berry fruit.
