Château des Tours is a beautiful estate surrounded by its own vines. The Château itself dates back to the 14th Century and is the heart of the estate. During the harvest, as per tradition, an old bell is rung to signify the start of the day.
Vinification takes place at Château des Tours and each of the different parcels are vinified separately. For the Brouilly, the grapes are destemmed and the wine aged in stainless steel.
A lovely 100% Gamay, this wine for a long time this was the only cuvee in Chateau des tours arsenal, a perfect example of the terroir in their surrounding vineyards. Over time their vinification techniques with Burgundian influences grew to create a fine and complexly fruity Gamay which pairs perfectly with food of the surrounding regions.
This wine finds the middle point between exuberance and elegance, the wine has a bright ruby colour with an intense nose, filled with typical notes from the terroir, fresh black fruit, and a number of spices to finish it off. The mouth feel has a clean and full attack with a round fruity structure balanced alongside minimal tannins, and a persistent finish.

This was my second visit to Butlers Wine Cellar and on both occasions the service has been wonderful. The young lady assisted me and my wife on a number of purchases of wine and sherry and seemed very knowledgeable and made us feel welcome.
