Château Bouscassé is the original home of Madiran pioneer Alain Brumont. Alain has played a central role in brining this corner of South West France to international acclaim, offering not only delicious wines but also excellent value for money.
The 2016 Bouscassé is a beautifully approachable expression of Madiran, partly because Tannat only makes up half of the blend (the two red Cabernets completing the line-up). It's big and full-flavoured, packed with black fruits, cassis, cloves, cedar and a whole herb garden of savoury notes.
Worth decanting if you open now; even more worth holding on to for a few years if you can wait!
